742os This beautifully designed and executed regulator has an inverted train with a Graham dead-beat escapement and maintaining power. The barrel is mounted externally on the backplate, its’ rear pivot being supported by a substantial bridge, an extension from which also carries the roller to offset the line, and thus the weight, to one side of the case. Beat regulation is provided at the bottom of the crutch and the movement is fixed to its’ supporting bracket by two knurled bolts. The dial, 5.5" in diameter including the bezel, has a centre sweep minute hand with Arabic numerals, a seconds ring, also with Arabic numerals, in the lower half and the hour ring, at the top of the dial, has Roman numerals. Winding is effected through the centre of the hour hand. The finely made pendulum has two outer steel and one inner steel rods, the latter being enclosed within a zinc tube which has a series of holes in the front to enable the compensation to be varied. The design is that of Jürgensen, presumably taken from his book ‘ Bibl Principes généraux de l’exacte mesure du temps pour les horlogers’. A copy of the drawing and calculations is available upon request. |

The case, of simple rectangular lines, with a mould to the top has a delicate quadrant let into the front corners and glazed sides. The dial and bezel are surrounded by a light wooden mould and four decorative recessed panels. The full length opening front door is glazed below the dial so as to display the pendulum, beat plate and weight.
Length : 21.5" ( 54.5 cms.)
