2671 An attractive and very elegant eight day mahogany Dachluhr. The case of standard form with boxwood stringing to the pedimented top. The six light case with full opening front door, again with stringing and with stringing to the side glasses on both sides. The eight day weight driven movement has typical fine wheel work and is seatboard mounted into the case. Originally the movement was latch mounted via a mounting block. The back of the movement has filled holes for the latches at the bottom and there are plugged screw holes in the backboard where the plate was fixed. Presumably the pillars had come adrift and the person in charge of the clock at the time was better at woodwork than metalwork ! |

The enamel dial, which is now unsigned, was fired by Mosslinger who was one of the better enamellers at the time and his name is fired into the back of the dial. The dial is surrounded by an engine turned gilded bezel and has blued steel beetle and poker hands. The clock has a wood rod pendulum with a large brass bob.
Height: 34" (86 cms.)
