A WALNUT AND EBONISED GRANDE SONNERIE DACHLUHR. CIRCA 1835.

An unusual and attractive grande sonnerie Dachluhr. The case with a fruitwood veneerd and ebonised backboard, the rest of the case in walnut with maplewood stringing. This is an unusual case combination more often found on the early Dachluhrs from just after the turn of the century, it gives an attractive effect.

The grande sonnerie movement of eight days duration, striking the quarters on two gongs with an enamel dial signed for the maker and surrounded by a gilded engine turned bezel. The wood rod pendulum with brass bob.
