WANDERER HAINBURG. AN EXTREMELY ELEGANT MAHOGANY MOUSTACHE TOPPED BIEDERMEIER WALL CLOCK. CIRCA 1845.

A relatively large and highly imposing moustache topped wall clock. The beautiful mahogany case has well chosen quartered veneers to the backboard and nice veneers to the undercut base. The case is of six light construction with ripple moulding to the sides of the door and the base. The shaped moustache top has nicely carved would ornamentation.

The beautiful two piece dial is of silvered brass and the centre is fully engraved. The inner and outer bezels are both engine turned and gilded.

The clock has a steel rod pendulum with a brass bob and a very small driving weight. The eight day timepiece movement has a deadbeat escapement and finely crossed out wheelwork.
